Five Years of Bodhi Linux

I can hardly believe that this month marks the fifth year I have been working on Bodhi Linux stuff. What started as a project to save me from having to compile EFL + E updates on six different Ubuntu computers every month has become so much more than that. I would just like to say thank you to everyone who has contributed to Bodhi Linux over the years. Without your code, forums posts, documentation, monetary donations, translations, and many other things I am sure I am forgetting – we would not still be here today. The power of the open-source community continually impresses me and I am honored to be a part of it – giving back in whatever way I can.

November 16th, 2010 was the first time I posted on my old blog about Bodhi Linux. I was taking a trip down memory lane peeking back over the release posts for our first two stable releases – Bodhi 1.0.0 and Bodhi 2.0.0 when I got to thinking about what our old website used to look like. I found myself on the Wayback Machine looking at the different variations the Bodhi website has gone through over the years:

2011 Website

Our first website in early 2011

The blue-brown look did not last long. Midway through 2011 we moved to something closer to our current green-based look

Then in late 2012 we moved to the look the website had for a long while:

Then earlier this year we moved to the current WordPress based site that you are reading today!

While Bodhi might not be using the Enlightenment desktop directly any longer with the inception of Moksha, it is important to remember where we have come from so we can know where we want to go.

Happy Birthday, Bodhi. Here is to another great year working on this wonderful project!
